What is the Oeko-Tex label?
Our clothes are knitted with Öeko-Tex certified cotton. We're proud of it, but what does it mean?
Öeko-Tex is the first label to guarantee the human-ecological qualities of textiles. Launched in 1992 by an independent German association, the label certifies that cotton is free from products that are toxic to the body and the environment.
In concrete terms, Öeko-Tex tests the cotton in our clothes to certify that it does not contain any of the 100 substances deemed toxic or harmful to the skin, listed by the label since its creation. And we like that :)
Cotton with Oeko-tex label
As mentioned above, the Oeko-Tex label strictly prohibits the use of chemicals in the manufacture of your garments! Over 100 chemical substances are banned if you wish to use this label on your clothes.
As you know, our cotton is Oeko-tex-labeled, but don't take our word for it: Oeko-tex cotton does not mean it's organic!
In fact, the label does not control the way in which the cotton is grown, and it is even possible for an unnatural fabric to be labeled Oeko-Tex.
If you're looking for 100% organic cotton, you'll have to look to ethical, eco-responsible brands like us, who make our organic cotton t-shirts with [lots of] ❤️.
