Our project: where, how and why?
The Made in France Collection
The Made in France Collection is made in France. Skilful. Our long-fibre cotton comes from Arkansas and Mississippi, two regions renowned for their historic know-how.
Sweaters: also known as Colin, our wool sweaters are made in Castres.
Polos: our polos come from Troyes.
T-shirts: our T-shirts are woven near Lille. They are screen-printed near Avignon. Just off the bridge.
The Biological Collection
The Organic Collection is made from organic cotton in Portugal.
Our certified organic cotton comes from Portugal, Arkansas and Mississippi and is GOTS certified.
T-shirts: all our organic T-shirts are woven near Braga.
Sweatshirts: our organic sweatshirts are woven just outside Porto. The city, not the wine.
Cotte-de-maille: as Richard II has not relinquished his patent to us, we don't envisage manufacturing in the short term.
The common thread running through our collections is Love. Pun aside, our collections are as ethical and local as possible.
Because for us, when you want to make clothes, YOU CAN :
You can choose to work with responsible companies that respect human rights and the environment.
You can opt for recyclable materials for your clothes, even if it means paying more.
You can choose to work with thicker cotton and reinforce sensitive areas of the garment to make it last longer.
You can opt for organic cotton, which respects Mother Nature and the workers who handle it.
You can choose to visit your suppliers thirty-four times to improve a prototype and make sure it stands the test of time.
You can choose to use recycled cardboard and paper to send your parcels.
We make these choices. We know it's not perfect, nor is it enough. But we also know that it's the sum total of each and every one of us that moves the world forward. So we do our bit.
The textile industry is one of the most polluting in the world. This fact should not prevent us from taking action. Quite the contrary, in fact.
At La Maison, we firmly believe that fashion and ethics are compatible. We believe that clothes can be made with love.
It starts with reducing our environmental impact. By offering you clothes that last. Clothes that stay the same, wash after wash.
We don't say it enough, but the most eco-friendly garment is the one you can keep for two, three or even five years without it moving. Clothes that can be put through the washing machine a hundred times and still come back intact.
And by favoring non-polluting or recycled materials.
On the one hand, there's fashion: classic garments with unique craftsmanship and elegant design.
On the ethical side, soft, hard-wearing materials, and our production in a short circuit.
Our motto is to combine business with pleasure.
We want our clothes to last many years in your wardrobe, and minimize our environmental impact.
"We wanted to offer clothes that were different, that we couldn't find anywhere else. Products that combine our values: style, quality and saving dolphins. Or trees. Or the planet. Mr T. Co-founder and brother of Mr F.
